2008 Campaign
Business representatives,
Agency Directors and Board Members gathered September 18 for the
annual Kickoff Breakfast. Board President, Dr. Michael Weber welcomed
guests. VP/Campaign Chris Rasmussen encouraged everyone to run a
successful campaign. He announced the Campaign Goal of $180,000.
Executive Director, Kathie Schaefer presented the Campaign Powerpoint
and encouraged businesses and agencies to use the presentation as
part of their Kickoff. Campaign materials were distributed.
Monies raised will be used to support sixteen programs administered
by sixteen Ozaukee County health and human service agencies. The
United Way is committed to working toward:
- Nurturing children and families
- Helping the elderly remain independent
- Removing barriers to the disabled
- Helping when misfortune strikes
Annual Campaigns
The United Way of Northern Ozaukee campaign runs from September
through November. It is comprised of five sectors:
- Large Business - A number of area business employees, area school
system employees, city and county government employees participate
in workplace campaigns where employees donate through payroll
deduction or cash donations.
- Heritage Society - A Leadership Giving Society made up of county
residents and employees who donate more than $250 per year.
- Small Business - Business owners donate through a yearly mailing.
- Community Organizations - A few community organizations elect
to donate funds to the United Way.
- Residential Mailing - Every September, area residents receive
a United Way of Northern Ozaukee mailing to which they are asked
to respond.
Every year our local Board of Directors sets the Campaign Goal
based on the financial needs of the programs we fund. Ozaukee County
health and human service agencies apply for funding annually. Applications
are reviewed and agency directors are interviewed before financial
support decisions are made. |
