Community Impact

UWNO is dedicated to helping individuals, children and their families who are vulnerable and at risk to meet their emergency needs, stabilize their lives and ultimately achieve a better quality of life.   By mobilizing the caring power of our communities, we have focused our efforts on the health and human service issues that are unique to our community.

UWNO's strategic blueprint addresses the following four critical areas that have become the building blocks for building a better tomorrow. They are:

  • Nurturing children and families
  • Helping the elderly remain independent
  • Removing barriers to the disabled
  • Helping when misfortune strikes

Together with our 16 collaborative partners, we are making a difference.

2011 Community Impact Grants

Community Impact Grants were not available in 2010 because the annual campaign did not allow for it. The decision not to award a special project grant in 2010 was based on two defining factors; It was difficult to raise funds in the tough economic climate, and with budgets tight and straining at the agencies, it would be difficult to successfully launch a new program or initiative.

The Community Impact Committee evaluated the current budget and determined that the short term funding could be made available to the United Way of Northern Ozaukee partner agencies with some minor changes to the criteria.

United Way of Northern Ozaukee County will award a one-time only special project grant(s) to our partner organizations. Programs that qualify should address a pressing unmet human service need. The total Community Impact Grant budget is $15,000.

Community Impact Grant Guidelines
