Our Local Beginnings

United Way Northern Ozaukee (UWNO) is about to mark a significant milestone-75 years of serving our community.  This journey began with a small group of business leaders who created the first Community Chest, a seed that later blossomed into the United Way of Northern Ozaukee.  But it's not just about these visionaries, such as Ron Schowalter, Steve Schowalter, Merton Lueptow, Chris Lear, Kathy Schaefer, and Mary Lou Mueller. It's about all of us, the community, who have contributed to this rich history and continue to build upon it today.

Our mission, 'neighbors helping neighbors', remains as vital and inspiring as ever.  I am proud to be part of this rich history and continually inspired by the ongoing relevance and impact of our work.  With a strong volunteer base, UWNO has been and will continue to be an exceptional investment in our community.  We touch thousands of lives, address pressing issues, recruit strategic partners, and invest in programs that drive positive change.
